This wraps up the last of the Pride microfictions. (I have a short story with Mattie which will drop as soon as the ending takes shape.) We will now be returning to our usual levels of queer.
Having had tremendous fun, I’ll be looking out for other microfiction/writing prompt events. If you know one please drop a comment. 🙂
Here’s this week’s micros!
The Second Inheritance
While Lavinia Brent knew she couldn't escape her family history, she wasn't about to let her brother drag her back into that mess!
Viciously Violent Verbosity
As alliteration assembles arcane arcs, the entire market trembles. The glottal hags are fighting AGAIN.
The Troll Toll Bridge
The stone arch stretched over the whole river. Some swore it was magic. Maybe they were right. Either way, it was a massive convenience.
An Itinerant Mouse
On days like these, when the wind whistling past is wet and cold and the air inside the van stinks of petrol and coffee, I wonder if my mother was right. Perhaps I truly am a house mouse at heart.
Sir, This Is A 24/7
This was what she got for slipping off-script and opening with “Are you ok??” rather than the usual “Can I get you anything?”. The guy being wild-eyed and covered with lacerations had thrown her. Not the usual kinda weird for overnight shift, even at a 24/7 gas-and-shopping place.
